The heated altercation between Sreesanth and Gambhir took place in the eliminator clash between the India Capitals and Gujarat Giants in here on December 6, with the opening batsman allegedly calling his former teammate a ‘fixer’.
The feud escalated when Sreesanth shared a video on Instagram, shedding light on their on-field clash. Sreesanth made serious allegations, claiming that Gambhir had insulted him with harsh words. Initially cryptic about the details, Sreesanth later revealed that Gambhir had called him a ‘fixer’ and had verbally abused him during the match.

Having sensed the gravity of the situation, LLC put out an official statement on December 7, declaring that it would begin an investigation into the matter.
TimesofIndia.com understands that the legal notice served to Sreesanth on the late evening of December 6 states that discussions will only proceed once he removes the contentious videos targeting Gambhir. It is also true that the umpires, who attempted to mediate the situation, submitted a report on the controversy, although there was no mention of Sreesanth’s ‘fixer’ claims against Gambhir.
Responding to Gambhir’s post, Sreesanth continued his criticism, labeling the former Indian opener as an ‘arrogant’ and ‘utterly classless individual.’
The dispute took an even more personal turn as Sreesanth’s wife, Vidihita, joined in to condemn Gambhir on Instagram.
Expressing shock at Gambhir’s behaviour, she said, “It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level even after so many years of retirement from active cricket. After all, upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when this kind of behaviour comes up on the ground. Shocking, truly shocking.”
